BMR receives the Green Economy award Thursday 3rd November 2011
The prize-giving ceremony of the 1st edition of the Green Economy Award took place in Fiorano Modenese during the Green Economy Festival (6th-9th October), which focused on projects of products, technologies and business management systems capable of enhancing the Green Economy good practices of companies related to the tile manufacturing industry in the various fields of Economy, Public Administration and Civilised society.
In the Green Technology category – completed with Green Product and Green Management participation – third place went to BMR for its Squadra Dry project.
This new machine eliminates a complementary phase of the monoporous tile grinding process, which costs almost the same amount as the grinding process.
The grinding process is indeed conventionally performed by wet machines equipped with water-cooled tools, which entail systems that eliminate surface water, recycling systems of the process water and tile drying machines that run on NATURAL GAS or LPG.
Thanks to Squadra Dry, on the other hand, diamond-coated tools can be used without a water-cooling system, hence no water elimination system on the machine outlet or gas-fuelled driers. All that has to be installed is a sleeve filter to remove process dust, with power of 45 kW.
System and Sacmi stood alongside BMR on the podium.
