FROM 4.0 TO THE DIGITIZED PROCESS: BMR REMOTELY ACTIVATES A LINE AT DEL CONCA USA

15 June 2020 | News | Commercial News

BMR – the very first in the ceramic plants sector – has remotely started a latest generation cutting and squaring line at the American plants of Del Conca USA. This is an exclusive and exceptional event at the same time, occurring in the pandemic peak generated by the Covid-19 among the economic, managerial and displacement difficulties that this situation generated.

The partnership between BMR and one of the biggest players in the ceramic world at an international level had been signed before Covid-19 and was formalized with the purchase of a 4.0 cutting and squaring line for the plant that the Del Conca Group inaugurated in America in 2014. The aim was to optimize the plant and improve production, with predefined timing to allow the company to be present at the main trade events with new ceramic solutions.

The sudden arrival of Covid-19 and the consequent drastic lockdown that has affected the whole world risked blocking the supply, but the synergy between two advanced and professional realities such as BMR and Del Conca has allowed us to overcome the difficult obstacle.

It was an unwanted choice – said Eng. Luca Costi, COO of Del Conca USA and CEO of the parent company Ceramica Del Conca – but which has forced us to understand the full potential of the new technologies not just in terms of production, but also management”.

“We have overcome a first moment of uncertainty with a practical and tenacious approach, confident in our ability to put to good use the meticulous work of designing and planning the works that had been done in advance together with BMR. – Costi added – We were therefore able to start up the new line through “remote” support, respecting the timing that we had prepared before the emergency began. Certainly, the achievement of this goal will make us reflect more deeply on how the digitalization of our production plants can help us improve our competitiveness, even in a difficult moment like the one we are experiencing”.

For BMR, this is an important response that allows it to position itself once again among the most avant-garde companies, confirming an imprinting that makes innovation and quality its DNA.

“We have demonstrated once again how important it is to invest in research and development of cutting-edge technological solutions, which allow Made in Italy to stand out and differentiate itself in the world through efficiency – said Marco Sichi, USA Area Manager for BMR. – The test taken and passed with Del Conca USA has allowed us to experience a real evolution for the sector as protagonists, which does not mean being a substitute for on-site technical support, but which guarantees new scenarios for plant engineering. An optimization of times and costs in favour of guaranteed quality and advanced support, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day are advantages that are proving increasingly necessary and, at the same time, successful. BMR is already working to make this digitized and remote approach even more performing and to lend it with the same efficiency to all our lines “.
