BMR installed more than 10 lines in the Italian ceramic district during the first 6 months of 2012. One of these was a large-scale expansion project at the facility of Florim Ceramiche which involved the installation of two new lapping machines (one with 20 work points, the other with 10) on the lapping and squaring lines already supplied by BMR, as well as the adoption of 3 new surface treatment zones. The new plant will become fully operational between June and September.

Another major supply contract is with Ceramiche Piemme and will involve the installation of 2 complete cutting and squaring lines for large-format porcelain tiles and monoporosa, complete with a vertical dryer, at the company’s new facility in Solignano. The plants will begin production at the end of 2012. Another important contract was signed with Ceramiche Gresmalt group for the supply of a complete lapping, score-and-snap (Cut Crash) and squaring line.

Emilceramica has already started up its new listel cutting and squaring line, complete with disk cutting machine, Cut Crash score-and-snap unit and squaring machine, bringing to six the number of BMR machines operating at the Fiorano-based company’s facility.    The first half of the year also sealed the success of Squadra Dry and BMR’s efforts to develop increasingly green-oriented Italian technology.

The 9+1 dry squaring line for rectification of single-fired tiles has begun operation at the Marazzi wall tile factory in Sassuolo with excellent results. This is the second DRY machine operating in Italy. The third will be installed in September on the premises of Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola for rectification in the double-firing department, bringing to 5 the number of Squadra Dry units sold by BMR since it was introduced at Tecnargilla 2010.
