DRYCUT

24 January 2014 | News | Technical News

At the end of a long production period, alongside other installations, which confirm reliability and precision, BMR offers a new DRYCUT machine to cut ceramic tiles and strips down into smaller pieces.
The machine is a development of the CUT CRASH model, which has already proven to be very efficient to cut tiles into smaller pieces and also strips, exploiting the score and snap system.

DRYCUT is used to prepare the tile surface ready for incision by scoring it with a dry diamond-coated disc.
The pre-cut score and the immediate subsequent CUTTING operations are carried out one after the other on the tile as it is conveyed along the continuous motion belt.
The tile reaches the CRASH unit.
This way of working makes it suitable for use also on rather hard tiles with surfaces with strong differences in structural reliefs.
The operator can exclude the pre-cutting operation with the diamond-coated disc.
The working height of the pre-cutting disc and the depth of the score are saved and can be selected again by the operator later.
The working pressure of the incision roller of the CUTTING machine can be adjusted for the hardness of the material.

DRYCUT combines ease-of-use with adjustment flexibility; this is perfect for the complex surfaces of modern tiles.
The structured surfaces of natural stone, wood with rather sunken patterns and very hard glaze can be cut and consequently fractured easier by scoring them in advance.
The special feature of the dry cutting system without using cooling water makes the operation definitely much easier and cleaner on the tile: there is also no need for foundations or other building work to contain the water used for conventional cutting and it guarantees the efficiency and lasting service life of the machine.

DRYCUT comes in a variety of versions for sizes 600 and 1200 mm, equipped with 1 to 4 INDEPENDENT cutting heads in the standard version.
There are different and customisable solutions. Please contact our engineering department for further details.
